Thieves stole over USD 200,000 (EUR 160,000), as well as jewels and passports from rooms in a luxury French Riviera hotel occupied by Saudi and Kuwaiti visitors, police said Sunday. During the night of Saturday to Sunday they took USD 210,000 and jewels from a room in the 234-room four star Noga Hilton in the resort town of Cannes occupied by Saudis related to their country’s defence minister.
Two other rooms, occupied by four Kuwaitis, were also burgled. Jewellery worth USD 10,000 and passports were stolen.
The hotel management had no comment to make on the thefts.
