The United States offered free flights out of Syria to non-essential diplomatic personnel and family members on Thursday after issuing a travel warning to Americans there were “increased security concerns in Syria.”?
The move follows an attempted terror attack on the American embassy in Damascus earlier in the week. Syrian guards killed four terrorists in the gunfire, preventing them from carrying out the raid. Three died on the spot. The fourth died early Thursday.
Syrian officials in Damascus have blamed the international al-Qaeda terror organization for the attack. No organization has stepped forward to claim it carried out the attack attempt.
