The 32-year old terrorist “Mullah Braun” is said to have been born in Karkuk and had bought a one-way ticket to Istanbul under the name Aziz Hasan B. Police are investigating terrorist Mullah Braun’s links with the attacks in Istanbul.
Were They Going to Carry Out Terrorist Acts?
The capture by Munich police of one of Ansar al-Islam’s leaders Muhammed L at the train station five days ago raised the question. “Were the members of this organization going to Istanbul to carry out acts of terrorism?” Munich police apprehended Muhammed L as he was boarding the train at Munich station five days ago. They announced that the other leader managed to escape at the last minute. They also stated that they had to apprehend them before they had planned to.
Munich police stated that the other leader who had evaded capture was Mullah Braun, who was later apprehended at Amsterdam Airport. Munich prosecution service have applied to Holland for his extradition.
It is also noted that Mullah Braun, who is registered at the Munich Foreign Nationals Office, was in contact with Ansar al-Islam leader Mullah Krekar, living in Norway, and that he gathered money for Krekar’s “Jihad”. It is estimated that Ansar al-Islam has close to 100 militants living in Germany.
